Through documenting a series of gas stations and cutting the film and reassembling the negatives to create one image. I am playing off the concepts of consumerism; the series also hits on the “oil crisis.” The images were purposefully reconstructed with intentions for the tape to show through. The idea repairing an issue with transparent tape, correcting larger issues like corporate businesses over powering smaller institutions or fixing the problem of oil prices with such a surface treatment. Mending the problem superficial is a satirical view of issues we see on a daily basis the need to be resolved in some manner, the need for a fix not a band-aide.
